  • Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (26 of 1996) Section 14 – Indian Council of Arbitration Rules, Rule 27(b) – Objection was raised with regard to the appointment of the arbitrator – Registrar gave 15 days' time to petitioner-State of Haryana, PWD (B&R) Department to withdraw the name of Mr. M.K. and send a substituted name - Thereafter, a number of letters were written - When no response was received from the PWD department (petitioner), a new arbitrator was appointed by the Registrar in consultation with the Arbitration Committee, as per Rules 25 and 27 of the Indian Council of Arbitration Rules - Appointment upheld.
